Summer Street Kitchen – Established in 1984 and family owned and operated continuously for over 30 years.
If you are a Stamfordite you may recall that in the early 1980’s this space was occupied by Summer Street Deli and Variety and its neighbor Carvel. As Stamford’s hunger for our one of a kind bacon egg and cheese and the reputation of the overall quality of our food and service grew so did our footprint. We then became Summer Street Pizza Deli & Restaurant equally well known for THE steak and cheese and the best Greek pizza and salads in Stamford.
As the food world/culture and people’s palettes have evolved so have we. Operated by the second generation of the founding family and Chef Lambros Amanatides. Chef Lambros has worked in some of the finest restaurants in the area including Boulevard 18, Thomas Henkelmann, The Schoolhouse at Cannondale, The Boathouse at Westport, Oceana, and Anthos. Although a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education culinary and management programs and classically trained chef Lambros is passionate about casual food and providing world class hospitality to our guests. We use the best possible ingredients including: non-gmo expeller pressed canola oil in our fryer, and salad dressings; local butter; Pennsylvania Dutch grown eggs, Choice grade or higher angus beef for our Roast beef and hand made burgers; hand selected produce, and much more. These are the same ingredients, or better than what you would find at fine dining restaurants, with the same techniques and attention to detail served in a casual setting at a fair price. This is why we feel we offer tremendous value to our guests and it is a formula we are continually trying to refine and build off of.
